Biography
Shifra grew up in Massachusetts and attended New England School of Art & Design in her hometown of Boston to study art. She finished out the year then moved to California to model. Eventually she found her way back to art and worked as a production artist in advertising for 15 years. She decided to go back to college, got a degree in Psychology and became an addictions counselor and life & recovery coach. She began taking art classes and workshops again and was creatively inspired to return to her first love as an artist.Shifra experiments with many different techniques and mediums such as, oils, acrylics, gouache, markers and pastels. Each idea manifests in its own individual style. Shifra is inspired by nature, travel, spirituality, culture and creative arts in all forms. Her intuitive artwork reflects different aspects of her soul, personality and stages of life. Shifra occasionally includes her photography as part of her creative art process.
Shifra lives in Malibu, CA with her husband Rob who is also an artist.
